Physiological Signals of Trust

People don't always know, or say, when they trust or distrust a machine. This project uses physiological sensors, heart rate variability, skin conductance, and related measures, to capture trust and discomfort as they happen, beneath conscious awareness. Pairing these signals with what participants report afterward shows where self-reported trust and bodily response line up, and where they diverge. That gap matters: it points to reactions people have toward artificial persons that surveys alone would miss entirely.
